KLBS plays in the WPBA Fall Travel Girls Softball League.

The cost is $250 per player, less a $25 discount if you have a Summer 2016 Travel uniform.

This covers WPBA fees, umpires, balls, uniforms, team admin, and coaches.

The season, approximately 12 games, will run from mid-September through the end of October.  Most games are double-headers on Sunday.  We play all of the neighboring towns that participate in the travel program (typically, Yorktown, E. Fishkill, Somers, Mahopac, New Castle, Cortlandt, etc).  Half of the games will be home at Rasor Field in Katonah or AP Farms in Cross River.

We expect to schedule a few practices prior to the start of the season. We’ll also practice about once/week during the season.

We will not have the game schedule until about August 30th following the WPBA Scheduling meeting that week.

We look forward to seeing you out on the fields!

TESTIMONIALS

Message from the Board - Of paramount importance to us is making sure the girls have a positive experience that heightens their confidence throughout all aspects of their lives. Below are some testimonials to our efforts:

  • As a young player I played many seasons of KLBS softball. Through KLBS I learned both the fundamentals of softball and how to become a great teammate. I have now had the opportunity to play the sport at multiple levels across the country, and I can honestly say that some of the most prominent memories I have playing softball were made while playing KLBS. I would highly recommend the league to all players looking to have a great time while learning the right way to play the game. (KLBS alumni and future star of Notre Dame Softball)

  • We found KLBS in the Spring of 2014 as we were looking for a well-rounded team sport.  Although it was her first year, Jordynn was welcomed warmly and had a great overall experience.  Fast-forward to last year as she had her first season of being the "senior" on her 3-4 team...the coaches were fantastic and she got an opportunity to be a leader and model both softball skills and good sportsmanship for the season.  Jordynn can't wait for this season to start as we've been involved in the off-season Pitching clinic, which (not surprisingly) has been fabulous.  Thank you for running such a great organization and see you Opening Day! - Angela and Chris Killion (Bedford Hills, NY)

  • Our three daughters have had amazing experiences with KLBS. Our oldest will be starting her sixth season this year and has not only developed the skills of a real ballplayer, but has also forged lifelong friendships. The coaches in the league have done an amazing job balancing fun with education. We look forward to another great season! -Gregg & Meredith Leff (Goldens Bridge, NY)

  • THANKS to you guys for teaching the game incredibly well, the girls have come so far. But thanks most of all for keeping it fun! You coaches are the reason the girls truly enjoy themselves and walk on and off the field with smiles regardless of the outcome of the game.  Thanks for continually dedicating your time to the girls!  It’s appreciated more than you know. We’re looking forward to the next season. -Michael & Kim Aiello (South Salem, NY)

  • Our daughter started participating in KLBS softball in 4th grade after just moving to Katonah the prior year. She was quickly embraced by the community of coaches and players and, as a result, she gained the confidence to not only improve as a player but also to make new friends and grow as a person. She learned how to be a part of a team, to be a competitor, and to do it with character, grace and sportsmanlike conduct. There is no doubt she will take these lessons with her for years to come. -Heberto and Ellen Calves (Katonah, NY)

  • Our oldest daughter started with KLBS back in 2004 and continued until high school.  Eleven years later, when our youngest daughter was interested in softball, KLBS is where we headed.  We've enjoyed the local competitive and fun environment that KLBS consistently provides! -Kirk & Lisa Beatty (Goldens Bridge, NY)

  • It is truly wonderful to have coaches and parents who are involved and committed to giving the girls a positive, rewarding experience. Emma has totally enjoyed it and has learned a lot from being with KLBS. Thank you for all you do! -Susan Spielvogel (Mt. Kisco, NY)

  • I'll never forget my days playing for KLBS. Not only did I make great friendships, but my love for softball grew tremendously. As a former player and coach for KLBS, I can attest to how great of a program it is. -Laura Eidam (South Salem, NY - KLBS alumni and Chestnut Hill College Softball)

  • Casey loves softball and I know a big part of it is the coaching. Your coaching technique is perfect for these girls.  Honestly, what I want for Casey is for her to participate in activities where she can learn and improve and simply have fun, not to feel threatened to be something she's not. Thank you for making that possible! -Saul & Amy Richman (Vista, NY)

  • My daughter had a wonderful season (3rd grade team) and absolutely loved her coaches. Thank you so much for running such a great program, and encouraging the children to try their best. Samantha is looking forward to playing in the spring. Thanks! -Debra Barrett (Bedford Corners, NY)

  • KLBS made the experience positive in so many ways.  The girls had fun, they learned a lot, and also felt good about themselves and their team.  Thanks for a great season! -Ruth Peck (Pound Ridge, NY)

  • Our daughter is a serious student and her personality is relatively introverted. She enjoys a few activities beyond school but none of them involve group situations. KLBS has provided her the venue to apply her seriousness to her softball skills, make new friends whom she ordinarily would not approach, become a contributor to a team with no judgment, and explore her lighthearted side (which many children this age seem to have lost with the growing intensity of academics). Most importantly, KLBS has provided her with the opportunity be a part of a team and social group that embodies an all-for-one spirit, something underestimated but vital in a young teen's development. She cannot wait for this season to begin! Lastly, I have never witnessed anything but encouragement and proper coaching from your staff. This is incredibly rare. Our son is an extremely competitive athlete and we have seen just about everything you can imagine over the years. KLBS must have a secret recipe for keeping your coaches on track when it comes to winning at all costs vs. coaching and properly teaching. Thank you again. -Tracy Nichols Fergusson (South Salem, NY)
